IAN HORNER

Ian Horner's voice is well known to Angel Radio listeners. Over the past 7 years he has produced many wonderful programmes in a variety of series.
PROFILES - Ian has produced shows about Irvin Berlin, Cole Porter, Benny Goodman, Jack Hylton, George Gershwin, Vivian Ellis, Henry Hall, and Duke Ellington.
LET'S BE SENTIMENTAL - The main bulk of Ian's programming is his sentimental series. Ian's gentle, 'late-night' voice is perfect for introducing this popular show. VOICE OF THE STARS - The 78rpm Cinematic Benevolent Trust record series provides the basis for this short series of programmes.
SWING & HOT MUSIC - A series featuring the likes of Clyde McCoy, Woody Herman, Glen Gray and Ozzie Nelson.

HORNER'S CORNER - This interesting series was first broadcast on Ian's Hospital Radio programme but edited and reworked, using the original recordings, for use on Angel Radio. The programmes feature Ian in conversation with the dance band vocalist Harold 'Chips' Chippendale, also Billy Munn, phil Grove and others.
JUST JAZZ - A fab little series of 30 minute programmes featuring rare records you are unlikely to hear on any other radio station.

Ian lives in Ashburton, Devon with his partner Ron, and presents his programmes from his own studio. On a recent visit Ian demonstrated his de-clicker to us, which does a remarkable job on his old vinyl and 78rpm records. The de-clicker was built by CEDAR and originally cost £11,000.
