ANGEL RADIO'S DENNIS WILLIAMS DIES

Angel Radio's fundraising day on Tuesday 12th February, when Angel Listeners were charged for their record requests, raised £3,000 to help keep the station on air. Most donations came from listeners to the 101.1 MHz FM service, although internet listeners also joined in the fun and made their donations by Paypal or by cheque. Station Manager, Tony Smith passes his grateful thanks to all who helped to make the day a success
FOUR POWER CUTS DISRUPT ANGEL PROGRAMMES
On the evening of 5 February Angel Radio's studios in Market Parade, Havant, lost power 4 times in 2-hours. John Line's Wireless Memories and the request show were both disrupted when the studio, computers, internet streams and radio link to our FM transmitter all lost mains electricity.
The elctricity company said thousands of homes also suffered temporary power cuts.
ANGEL RADIO GIVES UP PLANS TO OCCUPY PARK-KEEPER'S LODGE
Angel Radio has turned it's back on Park Lodge, the Borough Council owned building which was to be the home of the new DAB station to be launched by Angel Radio on 1st April 2008. Angel Radio's Manager, Tony Smith, said "After 5 months of completing paperwork and purchasing equipment, which has cost us a fortune, the council have now decided the building may contain asbestos and will need tests done. We are already 2 months behind schedule and this is the final straw." New radio studios will now be built at Market Parade.
Dennis Williams joined Angel Radio in 1999 after spending many years on hospital radio stations all over the UK.
Dennis used to run a tobaconist shop in Havant, but after a rather nasty robbery he gave it up and moved to Hove with his wife Betty.
Dennis' recorded programmes, Teatime Tunes, will continue to be heard on Angel Radio on Thursday afternoons at 5.30pm.
Dennis passed away after suffering a stroke at 6am on 21st January.

ANGEL RADIO'S JOHN WATSON SUFFERS STROKE
The presenter of 'In The Mood', Angel Radio's tea dance programme suffered a stroke at the beginning of January. John lost his power of speech but is now on the mend. John has also been caring for his wife who has cancer of the spine. Although John has now given up broadcasting, his recorded programmes are still being aired every Tuesday at 4pm.
