ANGEL PRAISED IN BRUSSELS

25th September 2008 - A vote in the European Parliament in Brussels about community media was backed by a large majority. Angel Radio was spotlighted as an "extremely good example" of Community Radio.

TONY POWER DIES

17th September 2008 - Angel Radio's much loved presenter, Tony Power (real name Terry Frank Corben) passed away after a long struggle with lung complaints. Tony died peacefully at his home in Hilsea aged 69.

ANGEL RADIO & AGE CONCERN - OLDER PEOPLE DAY

2nd October 2008 - Angel Radio teamed up with Age Concern's Information and Resource Centre to provide a day of entertainment and information for older people in the Havant area.

Visitors came from as far away as Gosport to enjoy live entertainent provided by Reflections, a ladies singing group who entertain with 40's, 20's and Good ol' days packages. Ron Missellbrook & John Ainsworth performed 'Remember When' live for the first time and Martin Kirby entertained us with his pile of old records. Information was provided by 50+ Forum, Innovations, Department of Work & Pensions, Wheatsheaf Trust, Havant Borough Council and many more.
